Finally got my hands on one of the new Game of Thrones articulated action figures from Funko!
Iv been eagerly anticipating the release of these and waiting with bated breath for my local stores to get them in. Iv had to wait a bit longer then I hoped, too, because the first time attempted to pick up Daenerys, she was already sold out. Bummer. But its been well worth the wait!
As usually from Funko, the sculpt is absolutely gorgeous. The detailing on her clothes and hair is phenomenal, and although the face mold isn’t the most accurate to the actress Iv seen, its certainly not the worst either. She looks just great! Shes also way more articulated then I ever dreamed. Shes got the usual articulated points at the shoulders, elbow wrist, as well as thigh, knee, ankle. But shes also articulated at the waist and can turn this way and that, as well as bend over backwards!
Of course as I have also found with Funko, the paint job isn’t the greatest and there are certainly a few smudges on my figure. I also wish the elbow joints had been fully painted!
All in all though she looks amazing…. and absolutely gorgeous from the back, too 😀
Word of caution though; if you want to display her with the dragon perched upon her shoulder and not loose the darn thing, I would recommend gluing that sucker in place. He dosnt stay very well.
A little while ago I picked up the Santa Funko POP! figure and I realised that I absolutely needed Rudolph to go with him.
Funko POP! is a series of figures that are every bit as addictive as they are adorable and you reach a certain point where you just cant help yourself — especially when it comes to sets. I have Santa, so of course I need Rudolph!
Unlike the Santa figure, Rudolphs head can turn all the way around.
Hes absolutely adorable and he looks really great next to Santa as well.
I don’t think that I need the rest in this particular series…. but who knows… theres an elf out there…
Bit of a confession here: I am a Christmas NUT.
I adore Christmas. The decorations. The lights. The music. The food. So, yes, Ill probably be posting about Santa Clauses and Angels for the next little while because OMG CHRISTMAS YES.
So I saw this utterly adorable little Funko POP Santa Clause at the store the other day and that was it. He was coming home with me.
Their Christmas series also included a Rudolph, Hermey, Bumble and a Misfit Elephant. All characters of course from the classic Christmas Special Rudolph the Red Nosed Reindeer by Rankin/Bass.
Funko POP figures are always wonderfully sculpted, though not always as wonderfully painted. There are many little spots where the colour does not stay in the lines as it were. His head also does not turn at all like most Funko POP figures heads do.
But he looks fantastic on the shelf!
Today I picked up the Funko Pop! figure of Daenerys.
Its the first Funko Pop! figure Iv ever bought. Iv never really been the hugest fan of the Funko Pop! line, but I am a huge fan of Danny and this is (so far) the only official Danny figure.
Shes one in a series of Game of Thrones figures. Shes really cute, and has great molded hair. She is sporting her Dothraki outfit from the first season and is shown with one of her dragons.
I sort of wish that they hadn’t included a dragon because she has THREE dragons, and it seems to me that either all three or none at all should be included in a figure. Perhaps this is her favourite dragon. (Shhhhh don’t tell the other two)
I was pretty excited to get this figure nonetheless. I love Daenerys and wish there was more merchandise around for her! I do wish there was an actual DOLL of her as much as I like this chibi version of her. But this is great for now! The other Funko Pop! figure I really want is the Marvel Loki.
